The Karachaganak field, discovered in 1979, is one of the largest gas condensate fields in the world. It is located in northwestern Kazakhstan and covers an area of over 280 square kilometers. Estimated initial hydrocarbon reserves are 9 billion barrels of condensate and 48 trillion cubic feet of gas. Confirmed recoverable reserves amount to over 2.4 billion barrels of condensate and 16 trillion cubic feet of gas.

Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO), incorporated in the Netherlands and with a registered branch in the Republic of Kazakhstan, is a joint venture between Agip Karachaganak B.V., BG Karachaganak Limited (a Shell group company), Chevron International Petroleum Company, LUKOIL Overseas Karachaganak B.V. and KMG Karachaganak LLP.

KPO was established to develop and operate the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field in the West Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

West Dala LLP expresses its sincere gratitude to Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. for its long-standing trust and fruitful partnership, which began in 2011 and continues to thrive. The Company is honored to work with KPO to enhance environmental safety, optimize waste management processes, and promote the sustainable development of the Karachaganak project, one of the world's key gas condensate fields.

Since 2016, the Company has been performing a range of services to collect, transport, and treat industrial and stormwater wastewater from KPO facilities for subsequent treatment. These services include wastewater collected from contaminated oilfield areas at the following KPO facilities: Bolshoy Chagan Oil pump station, line valve 26, Atyrau Terminal.

Since 2018, the Company has been implementing a contract for the treatment and disposal of calcium bromide solution, ensuring the safe handling of liquid waste and reducing its environmental impact. Its production facilities include specialized infrastructure, processing lines, necessary equipment, and qualified personnel, enabling it to perform the full cycle of operations, from waste reception and processing to waste disposal.

Since 2023, the Company has been providing 24/7 operation and maintenance of the liquid waste treatment facility (LWTF) at the Ecocenter at the Karachaganak field, including the rental of the necessary equipment. Under the contract, the Company ensures 100% recycling of spent drilling fluids and brines, a gradual reduction in the volume of previously accumulated waste, uninterrupted operation of the process complex, and the provision and maintenance of the necessary process equipment.

West Dala LLP provides waste management services both directly to KPO and to contractors at the Karachaganak field. This collaboration significantly improves the overall waste management system at the Karachaganak project, enhances environmental practices, and minimizes environmental impacts throughout the region.
