WEST DALA LLP, A KAZAKHSTAN WASTE MANAGEMENT COMPANY HAS RECEIVED AN INTERNATIONAL ESG RATING FROM THE S&P GLOBAL RATING AGENCY FOR THE FIRST TIME

 

On February 16, 2024, the S&P Global rating agency assigned West Dala LLP an ESG rating of 34/100 based on the results of the Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2023 questionnaire - https://www.spglobal.com/esg/scores/results?cid=114785869. West Dala LLP became the first Kazakh company in the waste management who publicly evaluate its activities and corporate results in the sustainability based on advanced global approaches.

The Company received 30 points in the management and economic aspect (Governance & Economic Dimension), 43 points in the environmental Dimension, and 32 points in the Social Dimension. The final percentile of West Dala LLP in the ICS (Commercial Services & Supplies) sector was 78, which indicates that it is among the leading sectoral companies.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals and ESG are one of the long-term strategic priorities for West Dala LLP. For example, since 2023, the practice of publishing annual non-financial reports in accordance with international standards of the Global Reporting Initiative has been introduced. The Company has become a member of the UN Global Compact, supporting internationally recognized commitments in the sustainability.

Focusing on the principles of responsible business conduct and ensuring transparency to its stakeholders, West Dala LLP intends to undergo an ESG assessment from the S&P Global rating agency on an annual basis.

West Dala LLP has been implementing integrated waste management since 2005, introducing advanced international and domestic experience. The Company owns 7 large waste management facilities, including a landfill and specialized equipment in Atyrau, Mangystau and West Kazakhstan regions. In 2022, West Dala was awarded the Leader in Industrial Waste Management Nomination of The Waste Management Awards 2022 in Kazakhstan.

On the eve of the New Year, West Dala congratulated 570 children in the Atyrau and Mangystau regions. Children from the Foundation for the Support of Children with Disabilities, the Berkan Brain Center, the Yuri Gagarin School, as well as children from the Almaly rural district, Tupkaragan, Makat, Makhambet, and Kyzylkogha districts, received New Year's gifts and a festive atmosphere.

However, no anniversary is complete without a proper celebration, so on December 5, at our business evening, we celebrated the company’s milestone together with colleagues, partners, and clients who have shared this journey with us. Around 100 guests gathered at the N. U. Balgimbayev Communication Development Center to reflect on how it all began and to honor our achievements.
