West Dala provides services to remediate historical contamination in oil and gas production fields using a variety of processing methods and technologies. The example is a work in Karakiya District under the contract between "Mangistaumunaigas" JSC (MMGZ) and West Dala.

Last week, during a press tour, journalists and representatives of government agencies familiarized themselves with the oil waste treatment process. The main soil-cultivating works are designed for bioremediation. Under the main contract, the volume is 87,818 tons, with 59,461 tons currently cleaned up, and reclamation of cleaned up soils has been carried out.

As noted during the press tour, all soil cleaning works are carried out under the Memorandum in the field of environmental protection, concluded between the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the RoK and NC “KazMunayGas” JSC in 2019. Its purpose is to clean up the territories polluted by oil. After cleaning of contaminated soils to a safe level the analysis is carried out by the third-party independent accredited laboratories-contractor, "MMG" JSC, Department of Ecology in Mangistau oblast. After receiving a positive result on the analysis, the treated soils will be used for reclamation of the cleaned area and submitted to the state control bodies and the Akimat of Karakiya District.
