SITE VISIT

Last week, public figures from among the residents of the Makat district and representatives of state structures visited the Integrated Landfill for waste treatment and disposal.

The agreement on the visit was reached at a public hearing in November this year.

Representatives of West Dala gave detailed information about the activities of the Integrated Landfill, as well as technologies and methods for treatment sewage sludge and oily waste, environmental monitoring of atmospheric air and soil.

In turn, members of the public delegation during the visit to the Integrated Landfill were interested in the availability of permits for special equipment of the Company, the readiness of the fire brigade in the event of a fire at the facility, the availability of a liquidation fund and timely disbursement of funds to the fund account for the closure of the landfill in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Code, compliance of the location of the facility with the requirements of sanitary norms and regulations, sorting/segregation waste and subsequent transfer of sorted recyclables to Contractors for treatment and production, to individuals for reuse for economic purposes.
Following the results of the visit, representatives of the Makat district were invited to consider the possibility of employment of residents of the district; the use of the purified on the WWTP of Makat village of household water for the technical needs of the facility; the use of alternative options for treatment oil-containing waste; the issue of greening the facility in conditions of salinity of the soils of this region was raised. Also, the members of the delegation proposed to give permission to individuals to sort wood waste independently for subsequent reuse for economic purposes.

All issues raised by public figures have been taken under control in the Company.

The initiator was the Union of Oilfield Service Companies of Kazakhstan (KazService) with the official support of the Akimat of Atyrau Region, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.

In July, a training session on “Risk Management” was held as part of implementing the recommendations following the ISM recertification audit.
