West Dala Waste Management Company Published Its First Sustainability Report

West Dala LLP, one of the flagship companies in the integrated waste management industry in Kazakhstan, published the pilot Sustainability Report that reflects material topics, indicators and events in the field of responsible business, corporate governance, ecology, carbon emissions assessment, workforce management and other areas of activity for 2022. It is important to note that it is the first-ever report of a company operating in the Kazakhstan waste management sector.

Mr. Kairat Salakhadenov, General Director of West Dala LLP: "Our Company adheres to the principles of responsible business conduct and intends to continue the ESG transformation of its activities to comply with advanced international standards. We clearly understand the importance of ESG for building long-term and predictable relationships with the employees, clients, business partners, investors and population of the regions where we operate. In 2023, West Dala LLP became a participant of the UN Global Compact. Along with obtaining the ESG rating, the practice of regularly informing stakeholders about our results, opportunities and risks in the sustainability field has been introduced, including through the publication of detailed annual sustainability reports. We will continue to work to improve production efficiency and management quality, reduce environmental impact, ensure safety, professional development and well-being of our employees."

The Sustainability Report has been prepared in accordance with the 2021 Global Reporting Initiative Standards. It reveals the contribution of West Dala LLP to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as takes into account a number of requirements of international rating agencies and TCFD recommendations for the disclosure of non-financial and climate information. West Dala LLP plans to publish non-financial statements annually based on global standards in the long run.

The Company owns 7 large waste management facilities, including a landfill and specialized equipment in Atyrau, Mangystau and West Kazakhstan regions. This year, West Dala held a series of events dedicated to its 20th anniversary. However, no anniversary is complete without a proper celebration, so on December 5, at our business evening, we celebrated the company’s milestone together with colleagues, partners, and clients who have shared this journey with us. Around 100 guests gathered at the N. U. Balgimbayev Communication Development Center to reflect on how it all began and to honor our achievements.

West Dala LLP congratulated its distinguished employees in the Mangystau region on their 20-year service anniversary. Invited employees from Uzen WMF, Koshanai WMF, the Bautino Project and the Aktau office were awarded honorary medals, commemorative gifts and letters of appreciation.

Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) held a Business Partners Forum on the Contractors' Health, Environmental and Safety Management System (CHESM). Business partners of the company gathered at TCO's Headquarter to share experiences in achieving Zero Incidents and to discuss issues of safety, labor protection, health and the environmental protection of Contractors.

West Dala celebrated its 20th anniversary by honoring its distinguished employees who laid the foundation of the company and made a significant contribution to the production processes of numerous waste-management projects in the western region of the country.
