V Annual Forum

West Dala presented the activities of her company in the exhibition area of ​​the V Annual General Directors HSE Leadership Forum of JSC NC KazMunayGas (hereinafter – KMG) on the theme “Achieving Zero”. The event was held to assess the current state of labor and environmental protection in the KazMunayGas group of companies and to improve the safety culture.

The Forum was attended by the heads of KMG and its subsidiaries and affiliates, representatives of a number of Kazakhstan and Foreign companies. For the first time, representatives of Contractors were invited to discuss the company’s objectives and issues.

Welcoming speech to the Forum participants were addressed by the Chairman of the Board of KMG, Alik Aidarbayev, who noted the need to change the culture of thinking and the involvement of all employees in issues of labor, industrial safety and environmental protection. In addition, achieving zero performance should be the primary goal for Company’s Partners and Contractors. This year it is planned to establish a special control over their compliance with the HSE standards.

“This year we launched a program to ensure effective work on the protection of labor and the environment in contracting organizations, as they occupy an important role in the implementation of our production tasks. Joint close interaction allows us to improve the situation qualitatively. Our expectations are aimed at ensuring that all employees of the KazMunayGas group of companies and all Contracting organizations always leave their jobs safe and sound,” said A. Aydarbayev.

It is worth noting that the year 2018 was the best in the company in terms of safety and labor protection indicators for the last 4 years. At the same time, the management of the company set a task at the next meeting to discuss not an improvement in the situation, but the reasons for which zero indicators were not achieved.

The Forum also raised topical issues of reducing the negative impact of company activities on the environment and water resources management, enhancing the personal responsibility of company leaders in matters of occupational safety and accident prevention, and improving safety culture.

This year, West Dala held a series of events dedicated to its 20th anniversary. However, no anniversary is complete without a proper celebration, so on December 5, at our business evening, we celebrated the company’s milestone together with colleagues, partners, and clients who have shared this journey with us. Around 100 guests gathered at the N. U. Balgimbayev Communication Development Center to reflect on how it all began and to honor our achievements.

Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) held a Business Partners Forum on the Contractors' Health, Environmental and Safety Management System (CHESM). Business partners of the company gathered at TCO's Headquarter to share experiences in achieving Zero Incidents and to discuss issues of safety, labor protection, health and the environmental protection of Contractors.

West Dala celebrated its 20th anniversary by honoring its distinguished employees who laid the foundation of the company and made a significant contribution to the production processes of numerous waste-management projects in the western region of the country.
